Follow the Jet Set

ticket

The Upstream Collective’s Jet Set vision trip continues to be a great adventure. Be sure you’re following along with the blogging members of the group:

Rodney Calfee is pastor of The Downtown Church in Birmingham, AL. We met Rodney a few weeks ago while we were in town talking with Developing Churches Network about Europe. Last night, we actually lost Rodney for a few hours as we toured a homeless and prostitute ministry in Taipei’s red light district. As you can imagine, we had a freak-out moment. Rodney just caught a cab back to our hotel.

Be sure to read Rodney’s post detailing the experience over at his blog, “I’m Just Sayin’…” Follow rodneycalfee on .

Ray Chang is the Pastor of Ambassador Church, a growing multi-ethnic church in Brea, CA. We met Ray through Ed Stetzer, who appears to have met every evangelical pastor on the face of the planet. Ray has vision for global involvement and creative ideas for engagement. You should either join him in mission or get out of his way, because Ray is going to lead his church to radical obedience.

You need to add Ray’s blog, Transformission, to your feed and go now to check out the video he posted on the Spiritual Climate of Taiwan. Follow pastorray on .

Of course, our friend Michael Carpenter came along as well. You may remember Michael and his church, Matthew’s Table, from Upstream’s recent video that featured his coffee shop, Java Joes. Or, I’m sure you read about him in Ed’s recent post about third places, or from Ed’s interview with him in Rome earlier this year. As a missional leader who is a little ways down the road in thinking about cross-cultural engagement, Michael adds a lot to the conversation. Though we’ve yet to lose Michael on a trip, we certainly know how- spend hours and hours in a boring museum of bowls, plaques, and ancient coins.

Check out Michael’s blog, diningwithsinners,  for his thoughts on the trip to Taiwan and don’t forget to follow him on .
