Taipei is home to nearly 7 million people. Though the majority is ethnic Chinese and Taiwanese, world-class universities, business, and tech industries have attracted a large number of westerners as well. Canadian Chris McKenzie recognizes the need and opportunity for ministry to these internationals. His church, the Pearl, could easily be mistaken for an emerging church in any major city in the United States. The difference, through is that Chris ministers to people who live outside their home cultures, where idea of “community” takes on a whole new meeting.
