thoughts from Paris

Friday afternoon we went into a part of the city that was full of great devotion. In fact there were people who could not fit into the places of prayer so they prayed in the middle of the streets.  Hundreds of them in fact. People who stopped what they were doing and met for the friday afternoon prayers. I was amazed on a day where most people were trying to get from one inside place to another due to the wind and cold these men were in the streets.

This is Paris. It is a city where many different cultures and religions meet.  As we ended our time in Paris it made me think about our journey

Copenhagen

Hamburg

Berlin

Milan

Turino

Lyon

Marseille

Montpellier

Paris

We had over 35 different meetings over the 11 days. Usually with coffee.

We rode in trains mostly. We logged in about 24 hours on the train in total.

We took one plane ride from Germany to Italy.

I had my one piece of luggage stolen and lost all of the clothes except what i was wearing and I decided that I am not a good fit for Italian clothes. smile but true. Now I have to re-stock on some things.

We met with about 20  different organizations, churches or networks.

On our last night we talked a bit about what we observed and learned as we trekked across Europe.  I will post these in the next two days.

We have several more video clips coming up this week from our trip. So I hope you will take a look at them.

If you have a chance to come to London and Paris with us this Spring please let me know. Send an email to larry@theupstreamcollective.org. We have just three spots left.
